Algol donates 40,000 euros in support of Ukraine
The Algol Group is donating a total of 40,000 euros in humanitarian aid for Ukraine. Over the past five years in a row, Algol has donated 200,000 euros to support victims of the war. The support will be divided equally between UNICEF’s Ukraine Fund and the Disaster Relief Fund of the Finnish Red Cross. Due to the prolonged Russian war of aggression, Ukraine requires a wide range of assistance now and will continue to do so for years after the cessation of hostilities in the region.
UNICEF is providing significant emergency aid in Ukraine, focusing on the protection of children and families, healthcare, clean water and education. The Finnish Red Cross, in turn, is focusing on first aid, evacuation and healthcare for the injured.
Through its continued support, Algol is sending a strong message that it stands firmly with the people of Ukraine. In addition, Algol Chemicals, a business unit of the Algol Group, is committed to continuing its operations in Ukraine, where our local colleagues work.
“Civil society has suffered greatly during the war. We are supporting Ukraine and its people through concrete actions. The war has particularly affected children and families, so we find it important that we support reliable international actors who can help the most vulnerable,” says Algol Group CEO Joakim Flinck.
