Terms of Use for Algol Group Internet Sites

1. General

By accessing www.algol.fi internet site and any sub-sites thereof or any other sites belonging to Algol group companies (collectively the “Algol Site”) published and maintained by or on behalf of Algol Oy or its group companies (collectively “Algol”), you agree to the following terms and conditions governing the use of the Algol Site (“Terms of Use”). If you do not agree to these Terms of Use, please do not use the Algol Site.

Algol may at any time without notice change and/or modify these Terms of Use by publishing modified and/or changed Terms of Use at the Algol Site. If you continue to use the Algol Site after the Terms of Use have been changed and/or modified, you agree to such modified or changed Terms of Use. You should therefore from time to time revisit the Terms of Use published on the Algol Site to review the each time applicable Terms of Use. Effective Date for the Terms of Use is posted afore.

Algol may also at any time without notice make changes and/or modifications to any content, products, technologies and/or services described on the Algol Site.

2. Intellectual Property Rights

The Algol Site and all contents presented in whatever form on the Algol Site are owned or licensed by Algol and protected by applicable copyright laws and international treaties.

The Algol Site and all contents presented in whatever form on the Algol Site may not be copied, reproduced, transmitted, distributed, sold, rented, sublicensed, altered, stored for subsequent use or otherwise used in whole or in part in any manner without Algol's prior written approval. Private use of the Algol Site and contents including copying and printing of the contents for private use is allowed.

Algol trade names, trademarks, logos, images and service marks, whether registered or not, displayed on the Algol Site are the property of Algol, its licensors or other contractors and may not be used without prior written approval of Algol.

No rights or license to the Algol Site and the contents therein are granted, unless otherwise expressly stated in these Terms of Use.

Any product, service, or technology described on the Algol Site may be subject to other intellectual property rights owned or licensed by Algol and all rights therein are reserved.

3. User Content

The Algol Site may be used only for lawful purposes and in a lawful manner. You must not submit any unlawful or inappropriate materials to us. By submitting any material, you will grant us an unlimited right to use such material without compensation and without any accountability towards you. You must use reasonable efforts to ensure that any material you submit is free of viruses and other harmful characteristics.

4. Links to Third Party Sites

The Algol Site may contain links to other web pages that are owned or operated by third parties. Use of sites through links on Algol Site is subject to terms and conditions of such other sites. Algol has no control over the contents or other properties of such sites and assumes no liability for any matters arising out of use by you of such sites. Algol does not endorse such site or the owners, operators, contents or other properties thereof.

5. No Warranty

All information published on algol site is provided "as is". No warranties, either expressed or implied, including without limitation, warranties of title or non-infringement or warranties of merchantability or fitness for any particular purpose, is made as to the availability, accuracy, reliability, content or any other property. There is no warranty that the access and use of the algol site will be uninterrupted, error-free or completely secure.

6. Disclaimer of Liability

Algol shall not be liable for and you agree to waive, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, your right to any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, loss of profits or business opportunities or for business interruption arising out of the use of or unavailability of the algol site in any and all circumstances.

7. Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of Finland.


Data privacy, processing of personal data and cookie policy

Data privacy notice

Your data privacy is important to Algol, and we are committed to protect your privacy. We are processing your personal data in order to provide you services. We may also use your personal data to communicate with you. We only collect personal data that is necessary in relation to the purposes for which they are processed. We process personal data only for purposes that have been determined beforehand.

Algol group companies process your personal data in accordance with the applicable data privacy laws and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We may also outsource the processing of personal data to a third party, the data processor, in which case we will ensure through contractual measures that your personal data is processed in accordance with the applicable data privacy laws and the GDPR.

Cookie policy

Cookies enhance your user experience and the value of your visit on the Algol Site. The information we collect through the use of the analytics services and cookies are statistics relating to your surfing at the Algol Site at IP address level.

Expiry: Persistent, but will be deleted automatically after two years if you no longer visit our web site.

Algol uses analytics services from Google Analytics. Algol uses the information collected for developing the Algol Site and to follow the user traffic of the Algol Site. Google Analytics can be disabled with this add on tool https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Please note that this opt out is specific for each browser and device.

Social sharing 

We use third party social media widgets or buttons to provide you with additional functionality to share content from our web pages to social media websites and email.
