Algol Chemicals takes over distribution for THOR UK in Finland and the Baltics

The distribution of THOR’s speciality chemicals transferred from Stromberg-Baltica to Algol Chemicals on 1 May 2026 and will transfer from S.O. Strömberg on 1 June 2026. The products manufactured by THOR UK will now subsequently be available in the Finnish and Baltic markets through Algol Chemicals.

The distribution of THOR UK expands Algol Chemicals’ speciality chemicals product portfolio to include THOR's Acticide® biocides and disinfection products, as well as its Microcare® personal care ingredients. Acticide® products inhibit microbial growth, for example in water-based paints and various slurries, thereby improving the shelf life of products. The Microcare® product range in turn covers a comprehensive range of preservatives and preservative boosters, emollients, quats, amides and silicones. The majority of these products are preservatives for hygiene and cosmetics manufacturers.
