Algol Chemicals Sweden demonstrates commitment to sustainability through CDP Climate Change Disclosure
Algol Chemicals Sweden continues its commitment to environmental transparency through its disclosure of climate-related information via CDP Climate Change. This proactive engagement highlights our dedication to supporting our customers in their climate-focused sustainability efforts.
CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project) runs the world’s only independent environmental disclosure system, providing a crucial platform for companies to report on their environmental impacts, with climate change being a central pillar. Its comprehensive questionnaire empowers organisations to gain a deeper understanding of the climate-related risks, impacts and opportunities across their operations, supply chain, products, services and financial decisions. While CDP’s framework is evolving to encompass broader environmental themes, our Swedish subsidiary’s current disclosure focuses on the critical area of climate change.
We have been disclosing our climate performance through the CDP Climate Change questionnaire in Sweden since 2023. This decision was significantly influenced by a key customer who relies on us as a vital supplier. In the future, we will be ready to include other areas when requested by our customers. By disclosing through CDP Climate Change, we provide our customers with essential data to calculate their Scope 3 emissions and effectively evaluate the climate-related performance of their supply chain. This transparency not only strengthens the customer relationship but also enhances our credibility as a responsible and reliable supplier actively addressing climate change.
“Our participation in CDP Climate Change has been extremely valuable in supporting the climate-related activities of our key customers,” states Ida-Kaisa Kemppi, Sustainability & HSEQ Director at Algol Chemicals. “It provides them with the necessary data to understand their supply impact and build robust frameworks to improve their environmental footprint concerning climate change. For us, this disclosure demonstrates our focused commitment to climate sustainability and reinforces our position as a trusted partner in these efforts.”
