Algol Chemicals to participate in joint exercise at the port of Turku on 7 December
The exercise will simulate a chemical leak accident and has been planned according to the risks identified in the risk assessment of the Port of Turku’s safety report. In addition to the Emergency Services, the organisations taking part in the exercise include the Port of Turku, Algol Oy, Tallink Silja, the Southwest Finland Police Department, the City of Turku, the Emergency Response Centre Turku, the University of Turku, the Hospital District of Southwest Finland, the Finnish Defence Forces, the Regional State Administrative Agencies and ISS Security.
Local residents are encouraged to read the Port of Turku’s Safety Bulletin (in Finnish), which includes information about the company, the types of chemicals stored in the area and instructions to follow in case of an accident.
The drill is part of the HAZARD project (Mitigating the Effects of Emergencies in the Baltic Sea Region Ports). Further information about the HAZARD project>>
